Mediterranean Luncheon: Summer Entertaining Ideas

Recently, I had the great pleasure of working with the home boutique Grayson De Vere to create the perfect Mediterranean-inspired summer luncheon. Together, we created two beautiful table settings. The first summer table boasts bright hues of blue and yellow coupled with fresh seasonal produce- perfect for an afternoon in the South of France. The second tablescape displays a more restrained color palette, evoking a sense of summer elegance through the use of whites and various textures. Below is a more detailed account of our creative process behind these immersive experiences inspired by the space and the season.

Summer’s Colors

Picture a sunny afternoon in Capri: sweet aromas of summer’s flowers paired with sour scents from lemon trees fill the air. A bright sun lights up a garden around you, and platters of fresh plentiful produce are all in reach. This is what our first setting conveys.

Looking to design a cheery and playful tablescape, I created around the theme of blues and yellows. My Capri Placemats in blue paired with coordinating Capri Coasters and Floral Napkin Rings were perfect for this. These selections are the perfect summer decor, complimenting the garden around us, along with the delicious bowls of fruits and vegetables.

Cool Whites

Our second table setting played with the idea of elegant but laid back. To do this, I used lacquer Blanche placemats and Horn Napkin Rings in white to create a more serene and graceful atmosphere.

However, I made a contrast by using our Woven Rattan Coasters in white because I  like how their rough texture and earthy tones compliment the outdoor setting. This is a magnificent table setting – chic, elegant, and  exquisitely artistic.
